BeamFlex+ is RUCKUS patented antenna technology with over 4,000 antenna patterns that adaptively direct the signal toward every client in real time — keeping a stable signal even in noisy environments such as metal walls, glass and storage areas.
ChannelFly uses machine learning to continuously pick the optimal channel, SmartMesh enables wireless mesh connectivity without extra cabling, and PD-MRC improves reception of weak client signals.

BeamFlex+ — the antenna that makes the difference in high client density
The technology that gives R670 market-leading performance in classrooms, open offices and hotels — where 200-700 devices share the same airspace without the connection collapsing.
The image shows the antenna structure inside the R670 — a matrix of more than 4,000 unique antenna patterns that the RUCKUS electronics switches between in real time. Direction, polarization and gain are recalculated many times per second for each client.
In a classroom with 30 students, an open office of 100 employees or a hotel lobby where everyone streams at the same time, this means that the signal follows every device — instead of being split evenly in all directions as with traditional omnidirectional antennas.
BeamFlex+ also suppresses co-channel interference between access points in the same area. ChannelFly picks the optimal channel using machine learning, SmartMesh enables wireless mesh and PD-MRC (Polarization Diversity – Maximal Ratio Combining) strengthens the uplink from clients with weak transmitters.
The result is concrete: 4-6 dB higher link budget compared to fixed-antenna APs. In practice this means that one R670 often covers the area that otherwise requires 1.5-2 traditional APs — reducing investment cost, cabling and PoE budget.
BeamFlex+ is RUCKUS' patented technology and is present across our entire indoor and outdoor portfolio. It is the same core technology that powers R770 (flagship), T670 (outdoor) and H670 (wall-plate) — just different physical implementations for different environments.
